How it works

A clear, honest process from start to finish

No surprises, no jargon. Here's exactly how a Flow Joinery project runs — from your first chat to the final install, including what to expect on design, payment and timing.

Your home deserves cabinetry that fits perfectly — not just in size, but in style and function too. Whether you're starting with a fresh idea or already have drawings and measurements prepared, we're happy to work with you to bring it to life.

We commonly create custom joinery for:

01

Free consultation & measure

We start with a chat about your ideas, needs and budget, then arrange a free site visit to measure up and understand exactly how you use the space.

02

Design, plans & quotation

We design a tailored solution and prepare detailed drawings and plans — layout, dimensions, materials and finishes — so you can see exactly what we'll build, along with a clear, itemised quote with no hidden extras. Prefer to see it in full colour? A photorealistic 3D design is available as an optional add-on for $100.

03

Sign-off & deposit

Once you're happy with the design, materials and finishes, you sign off and pay a deposit to secure your spot in our manufacturing schedule. That's when your project becomes official.

04

Local manufacture

Your joinery is precision-built by our own team in our Gisborne workshop, using quality, locally sourced materials — checked and refined before it leaves the bench.

05

Install & enjoy

Our team installs everything with care, tidies up, and walks you through the finished result — all backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty.

Want to see it in 3D? Optional — just $100

Detailed plans and an itemised quote come standard. If you'd like a photorealistic 3D design proposal to picture your finished space before we build, we can prepare one for a one-off $100 — total clarity before you commit.

How payment works

We keep payment simple and transparent. Your exact schedule is always set out clearly in your quote before you commit to anything.

Stage 1

Deposit

Paid on acceptance to confirm your project and secure your place in our schedule. Manufacture begins once your final design and finishes are signed off.

Stage 2

During the build

Where staged payments apply, a payment falls due as set out in your quote — for example, on ordering of materials and before installation.

Stage 3

On completion

The balance is due once your joinery is installed and complete. Title to all goods remains with Flow Joinery until paid in full.

We accept a range of payment methods:

Credit CardBank TransferPayPal

Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.

How long does it take?

Every project is different, so we'll give you a clear manufacture and installation timeline once your design is signed off. Lead times start from the date we receive your deposit and confirm your materials — and we keep you updated at every stage so you always know what's happening next.
